From The Editor-in-Chief

It is heart warming that, the 16th Volume of the Nigerian Journal of Mycology (NJM) comes out again. Despite the economic challenges in our dear country which also affect our academic community, with God on our side we are able to still keep our promise by publishing our journal even at the instance of threat of problems which could prevent us from reaching our goal. We have been able to prove to the scientific and academic communities that Nigerian Journal of Mycology is a publication that stands high in the comity of scientific Societies.

With our usual ethics, we have not deviated in quality and coverage of the journals. It could be observed in this edition that the diverse areas of mycology with reference to plants, animals and applied mycology are well put into consideration.

My advice to our members and prospective authors are still in force as regards strict compliance with the contents of “GUIDE TO AUTHORS” since this makes our task easier. It should also be noted that the various comments and corrections made by reviewers are important and should be judiciously adhered to. Any deviation from this could lead to rejection of manuscripts. However, I seriously solicit for the support of members who are picked as reviewers to please help us in responding very well to our clarion call.

As the Editorial Board is trying its best, members should give the body the necessary support in order to serve you better. This is important, especially, in the submission of manuscript promptly to forestall unnecessary delay.
